Warm Audio WA-87 Mic Review / Test

Today I review a clone of the classic Neumann U87, the Warm Audio WA-87. I compare this mic to the U87 Ai, an sE4400a, and a JZ Mics Vintage 11. This mic has a very punchy mid section and over all smooth sound that sounds excellent on acoustics and vocals, especially if you’re going for a more vintage sound. I am extremely impressed with this microphone as a mic on it’s own, however, it yields a very different sound compared to the U87.
