Tech Zone Audio Products Stellar X2 Vintage Mic Review / Test

Today I review a microphone that claims to offer a similar sound to the classic Neumann U47 / Telefunken U47 but for only $250. Unfortunately, I don’t have a U47 to compare it to so I can’t address those claims. However, as a stand alone mic it offers a relatively smooth mid forward tone, with a tame rolled off air frequency range. In some instances it does tend to get a bit over powered below 200Hz, so some reductive EQ may be required. I also compare it to the Neewer NW7000, Audo Technical’s AT2020, Rode NT1, Tech Zone Audio Products Stellar X2, Neumann TLM102, Neumann TLM103, and Neumann U87Ai.
