Today we look at the Shure Beta 58a, a super-cardioid variant of the classic Shure SM58. This microphone has a very similar tone with a little bit more mids, a bit of added air up top, and less muddiness down below. All around this is a stellar option for stage vocals if you’re looking for a subtle upgrade from the SM58.
